In,19-year-oldWangZengqicametoKunmingaloneandwasadmittedtoNationalSouthwestAssociatedUniversity.WhenhefirstarrivedinKunming,hewasimmediatelyintoxicatedbyitsgorgeouslakesandmountains.Hebecameobsessedwiththisbeautifulcity.HerodehorseswithhisclassmatestoBlackDragonLakeandtheGoldenTemple,andhetookaboattoDaguanlouforfun.Helaterrecalledthatvacationingyouthexpressamazementateverything;sometimesthisisn’tnecessarilyanexpressionoftrueloveforlakesandmountains—it’sjustashow.Kunming’slakesandmountains,however,reallydoevokeasenseofnostalgia.Hesays,“IhavebeenlivinginKunmingforsevenyears.ExceptforGaoyouandBeijing,Ihavespentthemosttimehere.IfIweretorankmyresidences,Kunmingwouldbemysecondhometown.”Hisworkscontainplainwritingaboutthescenicspots,localcustomsandspecialproductsofKunming.

年,19岁的汪曾祺只身来到昆明,考进了西南联合大学。初到昆明,他立即被这里绚丽的湖光山色陶醉了。他迷恋这个美丽的城市,与同学骑马到黑龙潭、金殿,坐船到大观楼游玩,乐此不疲。他后来回忆说,少年羁旅,对什么都会发一些感叹,有时候倒不一定是真的留恋湖山,不过是附庸风雅而已。但是,昆明的湖山却是真正可以留恋的。他说:“我在昆明待了7年,除了高邮、北京,在这里的时间最长,按居留秩序说,昆明是我的第二故乡。”在他的作品里,处处可见关于昆明山水名胜、风土人情、掌故特产的朴素文字。
