In,19-year-oldWangZengqicametoKunmingaloneandwasadmittedtoNationalSouthwestAssociatedUniversity.WhenhefirstarrivedinKunming,hewasimmediatelyintoxicatedbyitsgorgeouslakesandmountains.Hebecameobsessedwiththisbeautifulcity.HerodehorseswithhisclassmatestoBlackDragonLakeandtheGoldenTemple,andhetookaboattoDaguanlouforfun.Helaterrecalledthatvacationingyouthexpressamazementateverything;sometimesthisisn’tnecessarilyanexpressionoftrueloveforlakesandmountains—it’sjustashow.Kunming’slakesandmountains,however,reallydoevokeasenseofnostalgia.Hesays,“IhavebeenlivinginKunmingforsevenyears.ExceptforGaoyouandBeijing,Ihavespentthemosttimehere.IfIweretorankmyresidences,Kunmingwouldbemysecondhometown.”Hisworkscontainplainwritingaboutthescenicspots,localcustomsandspecialproductsofKunming.

年，19岁的汪曾祺只身来到昆明，考进了西南联合大学。初到昆明，他立即被这里绚丽的湖光山色陶醉了。他迷恋这个美丽的城市，与同学骑马到黑龙潭、金殿，坐船到大观楼游玩，乐此不疲。他后来回忆说，少年羁旅，对什么都会发一些感叹，有时候倒不一定是真的留恋湖山，不过是附庸风雅而已。但是，昆明的湖山却是真正可以留恋的。他说：“我在昆明待了7年，除了高邮、北京，在这里的时间最长，按居留秩序说，昆明是我的第二故乡。”在他的作品里，处处可见关于昆明山水名胜、风土人情、掌故特产的朴素文字。
